Job summary

The Australian Submarine Agency is seeking a proactive Supply Chain Engineer (Mechanical or Electrical) to join the Supply Chain Engineering Directorate. The role focuses on governance, technical control and assurance of supplier activities across the submarine enterprise.

You will contribute to establishing engineering frameworks, evidence-based processes and compliance documentation to support safe, compliant and efficient delivery of systems and services through the supply chain.

Qualifications

• Strong Mechanical or Electrical Engineering knowledge and judgement.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to assess technical information and provide evidence-based recommendations.
• Experience coordinating with diverse internal and external stakeholders.
• Commitment to governance, assurance and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to development and maintenance of SCE governance, technical control and assurance documentation.
• Support establishment of technical assurance, certification and compliance processes across the supply chain.
• Conduct technical assessments and reviews to support informed technical decision making.
• Review OQE, supplier deliverables and compliance artefacts for alignment with requirements.
• Support supplier qualification, assurance and capability assessments including audits and evaluations.
• Assist in developing and maintaining supply chain governance, traceability and technical control arrangements.
• Identify technical risks and mitigation strategies and support their implementation.
• Contribute to assurance evidence packages and technical records for governance and oversight.
• Coordinate with stakeholders to support assurance activities and communicate outcomes.
