Job summary

Chandler Macleod Group, recruiting on behalf of our client, seeks a Supply Chain Engineer (Mechanical/Electrical) to contribute to a high-profile Federal Government program for Australia’s submarine capability.

You will evaluate supplier documentation, provide governance and assurance, and advise leadership on risks and compliance, with strong technical reporting and stakeholder communication. Based in Canberra, you’ll work within the Australian Submarine Agency environment.

Qualifications

• Strong Mechanical or Electrical engineering background with solid technical judgment.
• Proven experience in technical governance, supply chain assurance, or engineering oversight within regulated environments.
• Ability to evaluate technical documentation and objective evidence accurately.
• Excellent problem-solving and ability to communicate complex technical information clearly to diverse audiences.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for detailed reports and briefs.
• Experience working independently and collaboratively in high-pressure projects.
• Ability to obtain and maintain an NV1 security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate supplier documentation, technical deliverables, and objective evidence to support project assurance.
• Contribute to development and review of governance frameworks for supply chain assurance.
• Provide expert advice on engineering risks, compliance, and quality for mechanical and electrical components.
• Prepare detailed reports, technical assessments, and recommendations for senior leadership.
• Engage with internal teams, suppliers, and regulatory bodies to support assurance and contractual compliance.
• Manage competing priorities and deliver outputs within strict timeframes.
• Ensure work aligns with security requirements and safety standards.
• Support continuous improvement of technical assurance processes.
