Job summary

SMW-Shutdowns, Maintenance & Welding in Rockhampton seeks a Supply Chain Analyst to optimise material flow for fabrication, maintenance and field projects across regional Queensland. The role reports to the Supply Chain/Operations Manager and encompasses planning, purchasing, storage, and distribution strategies.

The candidate should have proven experience in the same field, strong communication, teamwork, and a proactive work ethic.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organise, direct, control and coordinate the supply, storage and distribution of goods.
• Determine, implement and monitor purchases, storage and distribution strategies, policies and plans.
• Negotiate contracts with suppliers to meet quality, cost and delivery requirements.
• Monitor and review storage and inventory systems to meet supply requirements and control stock levels.
• Operate recording systems to track movements of supplies and finished goods, and ensure re-ordering at optimal times.
• Oversee recording of purchase, storage and distribution transactions and staff performance.
• Provide products and services to meet customer requirements.

Job Description

Our valued client SMW-Shutdowns, Maintenance & Welding based in Rockhampton is a proud Central Queensland provider of field servicing, maintenance and emergency repair / rebuild services. They have over 10 years' experience servicing the Central Queensland region. They are seeking experienced Supply Chain Analyst.

This position plays a critical role in ensuring the efficient and cost-effective flow of materials, equipment, and services required for SMW’s fabrication, maintenance, and field projects across regional and remote Queensland. The successful candidate will report to Supply Chain Manager/ Operations Manager. The role includes but is not limited to:

Plan, organise, direct, control and coordinate the supply, storage and distribution of goods produced by the company. Determine, implement and monitor purchases, storage and distribution strategies, policies and plans Prepare and implement plans to maintain required stock levels at minimum cost

Negotiate contracts with suppliers to meet quality, cost and delivery requirements Monitor and review storage and inventory systems to meet supply requirements and control stock levels Operate recording systems to track all movements of supplies and finished goods, and ensuring re-ordering and re-stocking at optimal times

Liaise with other departments and customers concerning requirements for outward goods and associated forwarding transportation Oversee the recording of purchase, storage and distribution transactions Direct staff activities and monitoring their performance

Provision of products and services to meet customer or client requirements The successful candidate must have: Proven experience in the same field
