Job summary

Eurofins Environment Testing Australia is seeking a Laboratory Analyst to join a Welshpool-based team. You will handle analytical workflows, prioritise samples and ensure timely results in a fully accredited environment.

The role requires a Diploma in Science or equivalent, strong communication, and hands-on experience with GC/LC–MS systems. You will contribute to method development and audits within a collaborative lab setting.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Science or equivalent required.
• Experience in ISO17025 accredited lab preferred.
• Strong troubleshooting and instrument maintenance ability.
• Ability to develop and verify methods.

Responsibilities

• Receive daily priorities and ensure analyses are completed on time.
• Check spreadsheets and organize urgent samples for analysis.
• Conduct internal audits and respond to CAPAs.
• Organise monthly calibrations of pipettes, balances, timers and thermometers.
• Liaise with Analytical Service Managers about results checking and repeating.
• Help troubleshoot instruments.
• Train analysts on different tests.
• Ensure QC is performed by staff.
• Perform analysis, calculations and maintenance as applicable.
• Monitor staff work in the section.
• Conduct method development and verifications.

Eurofins Environment Testing Australia is an Environmental testing network of fully accredited laboratories. With a staff of over 300 our laboratories are located in Sydney, Melbourne, Perth, Brisbane and with Client Service Offices located in Adelaide, Darwin, Newcastle and Wollongong. We also operate field sampling services out of Melbourne and Sydney. Job Description

Full time, permanent position based in Welshpool, WA for mid 2026 commencement.

Monday - Friday, 9am - 5pm.

An extra 1.5% superannuation rate paid on top of national standard super rate.

Reporting to the Business Unit Manager, this role will be accountable for but not limited to:

• Receiving the daily priorities list and ensuring all analysis is done on time.
• Checking spreadsheets, worklists and organising urgent samples to be analysed.
• Conducting internal audits and responding to CAPAs raised.
• Organising internal calibrations (of items such as pipettes, balances, timers and thermometers) to be carried out on a monthly basis.
• Liaising with Analytical Service Managers about results checking and / repeating.
• Helping troubleshoot instruments.
• Training analysts with different tests.
• Ensuring all staff members are performing QC as required.
• Performing analysis, calculations and maintenance if applicable.
• Monitoring and checking work of staff members in the section.
• Conducting method development and verifications.

Qualifications

• Experience with GC P&T, GC-FID, GC-MS, LC-MS.
• Minimum education level of a Diploma in Science, Laboratory Techniques or equivalent.
• Relevant experience demonstrating competency and working in a similar capacity at another ISO17025 accredited laboratory.
• General preference and comfort in technical environments.
• Ability to build and structure business plans, submissions and initiatives.
• Desire to continually learn and improve.
• Ability to demonstrate strategic thinking and abstract reasoning skills.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
