Job summary

PLS is seeking an NPI Supervisor (Electrical) to oversee electrical works for dewatering pumps, RO plants, and non-processing infrastructure at Pilbara facilities. This permanent full-time role operates on an 8:6 FIFO roster from Perth or DIDO to the Pilbara region.

The role requires statutory electrical supervision, coordinating maintenance, and ensuring safety and regulatory compliance across site services and processing operations.

Qualifications

  • WA A-Grade Electrical license and Schedule 26 qualification.
  • Minimum 2 years supervisory experience, mining context preferred.
  • Experience with wastewater treatment and Reverse Osmosis systems.
  • Experience maintaining generator power stations.
  • Familiarity with Permit to Work and safety procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Hold statutory electrical supervisor responsibilities for the department.
  • Coordinate electrical, refrigeration, bore field, and infrastructure maintenance.
  • Implement preventive maintenance and work allocation via Pronto.
  • Ensure wastewater RO plants meet requirements and operate reliably.
  • Manage bores, telemetry and related infrastructure for 100% water supply.
  • Supervise contractors and onsite project work as needed.
  • Provide night shift supervision for Site Services departments.
  • Ensure compliance with safety and statutory standards.

The opportunity

Reporting to the NPI Superintendent, the NPI Supervisor (Electrical) role is to ensure that all scheduled/non-scheduled electrical works associated with dewatering pumps/bores, Wastewater Treatment RO and Non-Processing infrastructure i.e. camp accommodation, site offices and utilities are carried out efficiently and maintained to a high standard.

This is a permanent full-time role which operates on a 8:6, 7:7 FIFO roster from Perth or DIDO in the Pilbara region.

Key Responsibilities
  • Hold the Position of statutory electrical supervisor for the department
  • Co-ordinate all electrical, refrigeration, bore field and infrastructure maintenance, servicing, and repair activity to ensure operational continuity.
  • Implement effective preventative maintenance programmes and work allocation process via Pronto.
  • Ensure the Wastewater Treatment Plant, RO Plants meet operational and regulatory requirements.
  • Manage and maintain bores, telemetry, and other associated infrastructure to ensure 100% water supply to the Processing Operations and Carlindi Village
  • Supervise and coordinate electrical and maintenance project work including managing contractors required onsite to assist with any works.
  • Provide night shift operational supervision for the Site Services Department, including Concentrate Logistics, Warehouse, Village Services, and Non-Processing Infrastructure (NPI), ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant operations outside normal day-shift hours.
  • Ensure that all electrical work complies with statutory requirements and standards including completion of the Site Electrical logbook as required.
  • Identifying opportunities to improve reliability, efficiency, and cost effectiveness.
  • Monitor Contractor Management requirements for all related 3rd party contractor works.
  • Maintain operational and capex cost control as per the relevant budget whilst ensuring compliance to purchasing policies.
  • Provide persons under your control adequate information, instruction, and training to perform their work in a safe manner.
  • Ensure work areas under your control undergo daily documented safety inspections and where hazards are identified ensure they are appropriately managed.
  • Ensure risk management practices are effectively and consistently applied for all work activities.
  • Ensure your own safety and health at work and that of your work mates and in respect to safety always follow instructions given by your employer.
  • Become familiar with and comply to safety policies and procedures.
  • Report all hazards and incidents on occurrence and never walk past an unsafe act or condition.
  • Participate with your work teams to improve and sustain a positive safety culture across the organisation.
About you

  • Minimum 2 years previous experience in supervisory role.
  • Previous Wastewater & Reverse Osmosis experience in a Mining environment.
  • Previous experience in maintaining generator power stations
  • Previous experience with SCADA automation control systems
  • Previous experience in maintaining Non-Processing Infrastructure.
  • Knowledge of statutory safety requirements relevant to the processes.
  • Systematic planning skills.
  • Previous experience managing budgets.
  • Ability to input and review operational data.
  • Ability to work effectively in a dynamic team environment.
  • Previous experience with Permit to Work systems.
  • Medium to high proficiency in the use of MS Office applications specifically MS Excel & MS Word
