Job summary

UGL is seeking an experienced Supervisor – Assembly and Erection to join the HumeLink West team, with options for DIDO, FIFO or relocation to Wagga Wagga. The role focuses on safe assembly and erection execution, supervising subcontractors and maintaining productivity while upholding strict HSE standards.

The ideal applicant brings 3+ years of supervisory experience in assembly/erection, strong knowledge of stringing, OHS requirements and excellent communication.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years as an Assembly and Erection Supervisor.
• Tertiary and industry qualifications or significant supervisory experience.
• Extensive experience in all aspects of stringing.
• Thorough understanding of Australian OHS legislative requirements.
• Excellent verbal communication skills.
• Driver's Licence.

Responsibilities

• Actively participates in developing a construction HSE culture that integrates safety and environmental awareness as a natural part of the job.
• Oversees the safe delivery of the Assembly and Erection work.
• Ensures that allocated resources remain productive.
• Promotes proactive safety and environmental awareness for all personnel under your supervision.
• Reports to the Construction Manager on all matters relating to quality elements of construction works.
• Directs subcontractors.

HumeLink West Project

Two CIMIC Group companies, UGL and CPB Contractors have been selected by Transgrid to deliver the 130km western section of the HumeLink high voltage electricity transmission project.

HumeLink is a new 500kV transmission project which will connect Wagga Wagga, Maragle and Bannaby in regional NSW that will significantly increase the capacity of the electricity network in Australia’s eastern states.

HumeLink is one of Australia’s largest energy infrastructure projects, with about 365kms of proposed new transmission lines and a range of other new and upgraded infrastructure.

The HumeLink West scope of works, worth $1.4bn, includes delivery of new 500kV double circuit transmission lines spanning ~140kms from Wagga Wagga Substation to a new Substation at Gugaa, the Interface Point with HumeLink East near Gundagai and a new substation at Maragle in the Snowy Mountains for future connection to Snowy 2.0.

The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Supervisor – Assembly and Erection to join the HumeLink West team. This is a DIDO, FIFO or relocation opportunity into Wagga Wagga.

• Driver's Licence

The successful candidate will be required to hold a current Construction Industry Induction Card (White Card or equivalent) and undergo a medical assessment (including drug and alcohol testing) prior to commencement.

Where applicable, evidence of tertiary qualifications and proof of right to work will be required prior to successful appointment.
