Job summary

UGL, in partnership with CPB Contractors, seeks an experienced Supervisor – Assembly and Erection for the HumeLink West project near Wagga Wagga. The role involves leading the assembly and erection work, ensuring safety, coordinating resources and supervising subcontractors.

This is a DIDO, FIFO or relocation opportunity into Wagga Wagga. You will report to the Construction Manager and contribute to a strong safety culture on a major energy infrastructure program.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years as an Assembly and Erection Supervisor.
• Tertiary and industry qualifications or significant experience in a supervisory role for construction and engineering projects.
• Extensive experience in all aspects of stringing.
• Thorough understanding of Australian OHS legislative requirements.
• Excellent verbal communication skills.
• Driver's Licence.

Responsibilities

• Oversees the safe delivery of the Assembly and Erection work.
• Ensures that allocated resources remain productive.
• Directs subcontractors.
• Reports to the Construction Manager on quality elements of construction works.
• Promotes proactive safety and environmental awareness for all personnel under supervision.

HumeLink West Project

Two CIMIC Group companies, UGL and CPB Contractors have been selected by Transgrid to deliver the 130km western section of the HumeLink high voltage electricity transmission project.

HumeLink is a new 500kV transmission project which will connect Wagga Wagga, Maragle and Bannaby in regional NSW that will significantly increase the capacity of the electricity network in Australia’s eastern states. HumeLink is one of Australia’s largest energy infrastructure projects, with about 365kms of proposed new transmission lines and a range of other new and upgraded infrastructure.

The HumeLink West scope of works, worth $1.4bn, includes delivery of new 500kV double circuit transmission lines spanning ~140kms from Wagga Wagga Substation to a new Substation at Gugaa, the Interface Point with HumeLink East near Gundagai and a new substation at Maragle in the Snowy Mountains for future connection to Snowy 2.0.

The Opportunity

• Reports to the Construction Manager on all matters relating to quality elements of construction works.
• Directs subcontractors.

The successful candidate will be required to hold a current Construction Industry Induction Card (White Card or equivalent) and undergo a medical assessment (including drug and alcohol testing) prior to commencement.

Where applicable, evidence of tertiary qualifications and proof of right to work will be required prior to successful appointment.
