Job summary

Bernardi Group is seeking a Shop Team Member in rural NSW to join a dynamic family-owned supermarket network. You will report to the Store Manager and help maximise sales by delivering friendly service, maintaining a clean and safe environment, and ensuring customers see high standards across all areas.

Qualifications

• Experience in retail customer service is desirable.
• Ability to follow store routines and schedules.
• Willingness to assist with induction and training of new staff.

Responsibilities

• Ensure store routines and processes are carried out effectively and accurately.
• Ensure all Schedule/Routine Cards are followed.
• Assist with the induction and training of new employees and further development and training of existing employees.
• Communicate to the Store Manager all incidents, damages, operational problems, or suggestions.
• Minimise stock losses caused by store damages and internal/external theft.
• Support the Store Team in managing the store standards.
• Ensure information essential for Department Champions/Duty Managers to carry out their responsibilities is communicated to them.
• Ensure correct stocktake/stock adjustment process is occurring in all departments, accurate receival of goods and updating of invoices for inventory.
• Ensure all equipment is in working order, used correctly and properly maintained.
• Report any Pest issues to the Store Manager.
• Ensure all controls, policies, and procedures are followed.
• Inform and train store staff in all company procedures to comply with legal requirements.
• Perform any special tasks as specified by the Store Manager that is in the nature of the role.

Brief Description

The Team Member reports to the Store Manager. This role is classified as Level 1 in the GRA. In the absence of the Store Manager the Team Member reports to the Long Life and/or Fresh Food Manager.

OBJECTIVES

• Maximise sales by providing a great standard of customer service, a clean and safe environment, ensuring our customers are always presented with a high standard in all areas.
• Support and motivate the store team by executing routines and processes to a high standard.
• Follow direction to maintain all areas of the store to the highest standard.
• Be a constructive team member in the store.

Requirements

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Ensure all controls, policies, and procedures (e.g., WH&S, Employee Handbook, Product Recall, Food Safety, Due Diligence, Handling of Payments etc) are followed.
• Ensure all current legislative and Bernardi internal requirements and responsibilities are always adhered to by store staff and maintain adequate records. Inform and train store staff in all company procedures to comply with legal requirements.
• Perform any special tasks as specified by the Store Manager that is in the nature of the role.
