Boeing Defence Australia is seeking a Subcontracts Specialist to support Sustainment Operations and defence programs. You will engage with internal stakeholders, maintain and negotiate subcontracts, and drive compliance and timely performance on complex contracts.

You will develop sourcing strategies, prepare contract documentation, manage invoicing, and contribute to risk management. Australian citizenship is required; benefits include flexible working, mentoring and career development

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of work experience in contracts management or procurement.
• Effective written and verbal communications skills.
• Understanding of contracting and procurement interdependencies with other departments.
• Australian Citizenship required for Defence security.

The OpportunityIn partnership with the ADF and the Commonwealth, Boeing Defence Australia (BDA) provides aircraft maintenance and upgrades, component maintenance solutions, technical support, mission-critical infrastructure support and training on some of the most capable surveillance, command, control, and combat platforms in the world.BDA is looking for a Subcontracts Specialist who will join the Sustainment Operations business unit to help us meet our growing sourcing and supplier management needs for both new and existing subcontracts. The successful applicant will collaborate closely with various stakeholders and cross-functional teams to guarantee effective engagement and subcontract management on our Defence programs.This role is can be based at any major site, Williamtown, Adelaide, Brisbane or Amberley.As a Subcontract Specialist within BDA, you willEngage with internal stakeholders;Maintain currency of existing subcontracts including negotiating and implementing complex subcontract variations;Manage existing subcontracts and promote subcontractor collaboration to ensure on time performance and compliance;Develop practical and efficient solutions to complex procurement and subcontracts issues;Identify and develop appropriate sourcing strategies and approaches to market for goods and services;Prepare, negotiate and execute contract documentation in accordance with delegations of authority;Manage subcontractor invoicing compliance and reporting;Participate in risk identification and mitigation planning; andEnsure compliance with supply chain management corporate governance policies and procedures.About youTo be considered for the role you will have:Three (3) to five (5) years' work experience in contracts management or procurement;Relevant Bachelor's degree in law, business or commerce (desirable);Effective written and verbal communications skills;Good working knowledge of the responsibilities and tasks performed across contracting and procurement and their interdependencies with other departments and disciplines (for example, engineering, logistics, finance); andA willingness to work in a team environment.Applicants must be Australian Citizens to meet Defence security requirements.What's on offer?BDA provides people, expertise, process and tools to manage aircraft design, repair and continuing airworthiness capabilities supporting program execution and growth opportunities.
