Job summary

Micway Transport in Canberra is seeking experienced HC/MC owner operators to join its refrigerated transport team. You will operate on set rosters, delivering to major QSRs and retail chains using 16 and 18 pallet multi-temp trailers, with tailgate loading and hand unloading.

Deliveries may be chilled or frozen, requiring manual handling of boxes weighing 1–16 kg and adherence to fatigue management and chain of responsibility policies. Experience with pallet jacks is advantageous.

• Experience operating refrigerated trucks.

• Comfort with manual handling and loading/unloading.

Responsibilities

• Operate as owner-operator HC/MC delivering stock around Canberra/Queanbeyan.
• Towing trailers on set rostered runs delivering to QSRs and major retailers.
• Perform tailgated deliveries and hand unloading as required.
• Ensure compliance with fatigue management and chain of responsibility policies.

Micway Transport is a family owned and operated business with over two decades of experience withinrefrigerated transport. We own a modern and well maintained fleet, and we pride ourselves in excellent customer service and high safety standards.

We require the services of suitably qualified HC/MC Owner Operators to become part of our team towing our trailers to deliver stock around Canberra / Queanbeyan regions (set rostered runs) to major QSR restuarants on a 2 delivery day model. Paid on a carton rate delivery structure. 14 Day payment terms.

Tasks involved and skills required:

Truck Driving Operations

Experience with refrigerated trucks

16 & 18 Pallet Multi-Temp trailers

All deliveries are tailgated and hand unloaded

Small percentage unattended deliveries at start of day (due to parking restrictions at some locations)

Electric Pallet Jack experience advantageous, but not essential

Delivering chilled and frozen food to major fast food outlets & major retail chains

Manual handling involves the following:

Manually transferring boxes from the pallets onto the trolley.

Pushing trolleys to the storage area inside the store (chilled / frozen / dry areas).

Manually lift boxes that may weigh anywhere between 1 and16 kg.

Compliance with legislative requirements, policies and procedures is a must.

Criteria:

The successful Sub-Contractor must be a OWNER DRIVER (85% of the week) and will possess the following attributes:
