Job summary

HVG is seeking 2 experienced and reliable Owner Drivers with 8 or 12 tonne tautliners to join our Brisbane delivery operation under long-term contract arrangements. Contracts commence 4 January 2027, with paid transition and familiarisation work during November/December 2026.

This role offers Monday-to-Friday work throughout the year, with daily runs from Carole Park starting near 7:00am. Most deliveries land on the Gold Coast, with regular trips to Sunshine Coast/Noosa and Ballina/Northern NSW.

Qualifications

• Owner-driver with valid ABN and GST registration.
• 8 or 12 tonne tautliner vehicle.
• Current insurance and liability certificates of currency."
• Pre-existing, safe driving record required.

Responsibilities

• Deliver for HVG’s Brisbane network under long-term contract.
• Service Gold Coast, Sunshine Coast, Northern NSW routes as required.
• Manage daily runs, starting around 7:00am from Carole Park QLD 4300.
• Operate with Detrack for run-management where applicable.

Sub-Contractor - Owner Driver – 8–12T Tautliners

HVG is looking for 2 experienced and reliable Owner Drivers with suitable 8 or 12 tonne tautliners to join our Brisbane delivery operation under long-term contract arrangements.

The contracts will commence 4 January 2027, with paid transition and familiarisation work available during November/December 2026 alongside our current long-serving drivers.

What We Offer

$70.00 per hour + GST

Consistent Monday-to-Friday work throughout the year

Daily runs commencing at approximately 7:00am from Carole Park QLD 4300

14-day payment terms from receipt of a valid tax invoice

Paid from commencement at the collection point through to completion of the final customer delivery, with reasonable return-to-base time

Tolls reimbursed at cost where applicable

Up to $5,000 + GST per financial year towards vehicle repairs and maintenance

Additional payments for the return of reusable pallets and cover sheets

Initial 12-month contract, with rates reviewed annually

Paid transition and familiarisation period during November/December 2026

Onsite vehicle parking/storage at our Carole Park premises may be negotiable

About the Work

Two dedicated vehicles work together each day to service our customer delivery network, with runs allocated according to daily requirements.

Most deliveries are throughout:

Gold Coast

Regular runs also extend to:

Sunshine Coast / Noosa, generally once or twice per week

Ballina / Northern NSW, generally around once per month

Vehicle must have a minimum clear internal load/deck length of 6.5m. Longer body vehicles (7m+) preferred.

Daily runs and deliveries are managed using Detrack, so previous Detrack experience would be highly regarded, although it is not essential.

Vehicle Requirements

You will need to provide your own:

8 or 12 tonne truck

Tautliner body

Minimum 6.5 metre usable internal load length

Roadworthy, well-maintained and professionally presented vehicle

Vehicle suitable for carrying long-length products

Have strong load restraint and transport experience

Communicate well with customers and our operations team

Are comfortable using mobile technology for delivery management

Have appropriate licences, ABN and GST registration

Can provide current insurance and liability certificates of currency

Transition & Handover

Before commencing the contract on 4 January 2027, successful owner-drivers will have the opportunity to undertake a paid transition and familiarisation period during November/December 2026.

You'll work alongside our current long-serving drivers to become familiar with our:

Customers and regular delivery locations

Products and loading requirements

Brisbane, Gold Coast, Sunshine Coast and Northern NSW runs

Delivery and site requirements

Detrack run-management system

Day-to-day operating requirements

The aim is to provide a practical handover before taking over the regular runs in January.
