Planet Pharma is partnering with a leading Australian bioanalytical organisation based in Adelaide to recruit an experienced Study Director – Immunoassay. The role focuses on immunoassay validation and sample analysis studies, ensuring on-time delivery to high scientific and regulatory standards, with direct client interaction and leadership.

You will own studies from initiation through completion, guide junior staff, and work with quality, lab operations and senior management to drive study

Qualifications

• Degree in Life Sciences or related discipline.
• Experience in regulated bioanalytical/pharma/CRO environments.
• Experience managing studies and client-facing projects.
• Knowledge of immunoassay methodologies.
• Strong scientific problem-solving and data interpretation.
• Experience working with LIMS systems.
• Outstanding communication and stakeholder management.
• Collaborative leadership and mentoring approach.

Responsibilities

• Act as Study Director or Principal Investigator for regulated bioanalytical studies.
• Manage multiple client projects from initiation to completion.
• Develop and maintain project timelines and ensure deadlines are met.
• Serve as scientific contact for clients and external stakeholders.
• Collaborate with laboratory operations, quality, and research teams.
• Oversee study compliance and scientific integrity.
• Troubleshoot technical and scientific issues as they arise.
• Mentor, train, and support junior scientific staff.
• Contribute to process improvements and continuous enhancement initiatives.
• Support business objectives through effective project and stakeholder management.

About the Role

As a Study Director, you will take ownership of immunoassay validation and sample analysis studies, ensuring projects are delivered on time, to the highest scientific standards, and in compliance with applicable regulatory requirements.

You will work closely with clients, laboratory teams, quality stakeholders, and leadership while providing technical guidance and support to junior team members.

About You

• To be successful in this role, you will bring:
  • A degree in Life Sciences or a related discipline.
  • Significant experience within a regulated bioanalytical, pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or CRO environment.
  • Previous experience managing studies and client‑facing projects.
  • Strong knowledge of immunoassay methodologies and regulated laboratory practices.
  • Excellent scientific problem‑solving and data interpretation skills.
  • Experience working with LIMS systems.
  • Outstanding communication and stakeholder management capabilities.
