Job summary

Queensland Government is seeking an experienced Guidance Officer to contribute to student welfare and wellbeing planning for a new state high school opening in Logan Reserve. The role focuses on supporting staff, students, and parents to achieve positive life outcomes and smooth transitions.

The successful applicant will address socio-economic, migration and language barriers to education, working with school leaders to embed sustainable practices and build an expert teaching team as the school

Qualifications

• Experience as a Guidance Officer or equivalent.
• Ability to plan and deliver student welfare and wellbeing programs.
• Ability to engage with students, staff and parents from diverse backgrounds.

Responsibilities

• Co-create student welfare and wellbeing programs.
• Collaborate with leaders and Guidance Officers of local primary schools.
• Support transitions and Brighter Futures indicators from primary to secondary.
• Help students transition to senior secondary pathways and Ready for the Future.
