Qualifications

  • National Police Criminal History Check is required.
  • Certificate IV in Counselling (or equivalent) is required.
  • Current Tasmanian driver license is required.

  • Prepare and distribute wellbeing resources for students and families.

Student Wellbeing Officer

Star of the Sea Catholic College, George Town

Part Time | Limited tenure (19th October 2026 to 18th December 2027)

Hours: 11 hours per week

Classification: Wellbeing, Level 1

Remuneration: $68,586 pro rata + 12% Superannuation

About The Role

The Student Wellbeing Officer is responsible for delivering high‑quality pastoral care and wellbeing support services that enhance student engagement and contribute to a safe, inclusive and supportive learning environment. This role supports students, families and staff, and plays a key part in strengthening the wellbeing culture of the school.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Assist the Principal in delivering wellbeing and pastoral care services.
  • Support the development and implementation of wellbeing and pastoral care programs.
  • Prepare and distribute wellbeing resources for students and families.
  • Help create environments that promote physical, emotional, social and intellectual development.
  • Foster cooperation, mutual respect and cultural understanding.
  • Provide support or referrals (with Principal approval) during grief, personal challenges or emotional difficulties.
  • Communicate student concerns, successes or parental issues to the School Counsellor/Principal.

Essential Requirements
