The University of Western Australia is seeking a Mental Health and Wellbeing Practitioner to join the Student Health and Wellbeing team. The role delivers prevention, education and short-term counselling for students facing mental health or psychosocial concerns.

You will assess risk, coordinate care, and work with staff to enhance wellbeing, safety planning and early intervention across campus. A relevant degree and current registration are essential, with strong communication and collaboration

Qualifications

• Relevant degree or equivalent experience in mental health or wellbeing.
• Current registration with a professional body.
• Experience delivering evidence-based brief therapies and solution-focused counselling.
• Experience responding to disclosures of harm and crisis situations.

Responsabilités

• Deliver evidence-informed prevention activities, wellbeing education and training, plus brief counselling tailored to student needs.
• Conduct risk assessments, develop safety plans, and coordinate referrals within and outside the university.
• Build staff and student capability through targeted wellbeing initiatives and training.
• Contribute to clinical supervision, service evaluation and accurate record keeping.
