Job summary

NSW Department of Education is seeking a dedicated Student Support Officer to strengthen student wellbeing and learning outcomes within the school community. You will work alongside the wellbeing team and counselling service to provide individual and whole-school wellbeing programs.

Essential requirements include a diploma or higher in social work, youth work, welfare or related discipline, knowledge of Aboriginal education policies, and a current WWCC.

Qualifications

• Essential Requirements: A completed diploma or higher qualification in social work, youth work, welfare or related discipline attached with your application.
• Knowledge of and commitment to the Department’s Aboriginal education policies.
• Valid and current Working With Children Check (WWCC)

Responsibilities

• Enhance student wellbeing and learning outcomes in partnership with the wellbeing team and the school counselling service.
• Provide individual and targeted wellbeing support and whole of school wellbeing initiatives and programs that are evidence-based.
• Collaborate with external agencies and create referral pathways for students and families to child and family support services.
