Job summary

Padua College is seeking a dedicated Guidance Counsellor to support the academic, social, emotional and behavioural wellbeing of students across Years 5–12. The role sits within the Students and Wellbeing Team, providing counselling, assessment, wellbeing programmes, case management and student protection leadership across both Greccio and Assisi campuses.

This full-time position commences Term One 2027 on a permanent basis.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Counselling, Psychology, Education or related field.
• Current registration, accreditation or membership with a relevant professional body (e.g. ACA, PACFA, APHRA/Australian Psychological Society).
• Queensland teacher registration is desirable.
• Demonstrated experience working with children and adolescents in an educational setting.

Responsibilities

• Foster the personal development and mental health of all students across Years 5‑12.
• Provide counselling and support for students' personal, social, emotional, vocational and educational needs.
• Facilitate small-group and classroom interventions focusing on resilience and social skills.
• Contribute to whole-school wellbeing initiatives to promote engagement and positive mental health.
• Collaborate with teaching staff to identify wellbeing concerns and implement early intervention strategies.
