Job summary

Department of Education Victoria – Rutherglen VIC is seeking a committed Wellbeing Support worker to join our school community. You will work with Assistant Principal Wellbeing and Engagement to identify needs, provide intake, psychosocial assessment, brief intervention, and referrals to internal and external services, ensuring timely support for students.

Qualifications

• Experience in youth work, social work, counselling, psychology, education support or related wellbeing fields would be highly regarded.
• Ability to undertake student intake, psychosocial assessment, brief intervention and triage.
• Demonstrated ability to maintain accurate, confidential wellbeing records and data.
• Strong collaboration with families, school staff and external agencies for referrals.
• Understanding of child safety, privacy and duty of care requirements.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the Assistant Principal Wellbeing and Engagement to identify and respond to student wellbeing and engagement needs.
• Undertake student intake, psychosocial assessment, brief intervention and triage to determine appropriate support.
• Identify barriers and risk factors, develop and document intervention strategies.
• Provide individual and group wellbeing support within role scope.
• Participate in case management and coordinate referrals to internal and external services.
• Maintain accurate wellbeing records and contribute to data analysis for school planning.
• Deliver targeted wellbeing programs and support staff in relevant learning initiatives.
