Job summary

Rutherglen High School in north-east Victoria is seeking a qualified wellbeing professional to support student wellbeing, engagement and educational needs. • KSC 1: Knowledge of student wellbeing, engagement and educational needs.
• KSC 2: Intake, psychosocial assessment, brief intervention and referrals.
• KSC 3: Case management and collaboration with families, staff and external agencies.
• KSC 4: Strong interpersonal skills to build trust with vulnerable students.
• KSC 5: Maintain confidential notes, privacy and child safety procedures.
• KSC 6: Deliver wellbeing programs and advocate for students.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the Assistant Principal – Wellbeing and Engagement to address student wellbeing and engagement needs.
• Undertake student intake, psychosocial assessment and triage to determine support levels.
• Identify barriers and risk factors and help implement intervention strategies.
• Provide individual and small-group wellbeing support within professional scope.
• Participate in case management for students with wellbeing or support needs.
• Contribute to development and review of student support plans and interventions.
• Assist meetings for OOHC and Koorie students with care teams as required.
• Facilitate referrals to internal and external services, including headspace and DES Navigator.
• Liaise with families and school staff to coordinate student interventions.
• Advocate for vulnerable students and maintain up-to-date confidential records.
• Collect data on referrals and interventions to identify trends and needs.
• Deliver targeted wellbeing programs and support staff learning on wellbeing.
