Job summary

Ararat College, as part of the Victorian Department of Education, seeks a Student Wellbeing Officer to support student attendance, engagement and mental health, while providing pastoral care and referrals to services as needed.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting the general wellbeing of students and the broader school community.
• Ability to foster a safe, inclusive and supportive learning environment.
• Strong communication, teamwork and stakeholder engagement skills.

Responsibilities

• Support student attendance, engagement and mental health.
• Assist students in difficult or challenging situations and provide referrals to specialist services when required.
• Provide pastoral care and guidance to students about values and ethics.
• Support development of wellbeing programs and contribute to a positive school climate.
• Support environment of cooperation and respecting diversity.
• Report to senior management with timely updates as required.
