About the opportunity

This is a highly visible, people-focused role for a confident communicator who enjoys being out on the road, engaging with diverse audiences and delivering impactful presentations.

As a Student Recruitment Assistant, you'll play a key role in representing the University through predominantly face-to-face engagement with prospective students, delivering presentations and supporting recruitment activities at schools, careers expos and campus events, alongside virtual information sessions across Sydney, regional NSW, interstate locations and New Zealand.

Working closely with the Recruitment Coordinator (Schools), you'll help deliver outreach programs that connect prospective students with higher education opportunities. No two days are the same. Whether you're presenting to a classroom of students, building relationships with Careers Advisers, coordinating large-scale recruitment events or supporting student ambassadors, you'll be at the forefront of the University's student recruitment efforts.

Key responsibilities

  • Represent the University at school visits, careers expos, information sessions and on-campus recruitment events.

  • Deliver engaging presentations and facilitate discussions with prospective students, parents, teachers and careers advisers.

  • Coordinate travel, event logistics and stakeholder engagement activities across multiple locations.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with schools, Careers Advisers and internal University stakeholders.

  • Support the planning and delivery of outreach programs that contribute to student recruitment objectives.

  • Support and empower student ambassadors through product coaching, guidance on schools and target audiences, and the development of professional skills and standards.

  • Assist with reporting, administration and project coordination to ensure successful program delivery.

About you

  • A confident and engaging presenter who enjoys speaking to groups and facilitating sessions with a range of audiences.

  • Comfortable with regular travel and working in a role that is predominantly front-facing and relationship-driven.

  • Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship-building skills, with the ability to quickly establish rapport and credibility.

  • Highly organised, with the ability to coordinate multiple activities, events and competing priorities simultaneously.

  • An adaptable and proactive team player who thrives in a fast-paced environment.

  • A current NSW Driver Licence and willingness to travel regularly across metropolitan, regional and interstate locations.

  • A valid Working With Children Check (WWCC), or the ability to obtain one prior to commencement.
