Job summary

Sutherland Shire Council is seeking a Student Planner to gain practical experience in land use and development, assisting with research, preparing reports, and contributing to planning strategies that reflect our vibrant community.

Two opportunities are available for students who are studying or have recently completed a degree in Town Planning/Urban & Regional Planning. The role is temporary full-time, 35 hours per week, with 12% superannuation and wellbeing benefits.

Qualifications

• Currently studying or recently completed a degree in Town Planning/Urban & Regional Planning or equivalent.
• Passionate about environmental planning and policy.
• Analytical thinkers with strong research skills.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and basic admin tasks.
• Team players with a positive attitude and a drive to learn.
• Hold a valid NSW Drivers Licence and General Construction Induction Card NSW.

• Assist with research, prepare reports, and contribute to planning strategies that reflect community needs.
• Work on real-world planning projects that matter and support senior staff.
