Job summary

Tagai State College across the Torres Strait seeks a Head of Department – Student Engagement to lead and deliver engagement strategies and interventions. You will monitor student engagement, attendance, behaviour and achievement data to identify needs and drive coordinated interventions with staff, students and families.

The role includes leading Head of Year teams, developing culturally responsive wraparound support, and building partnerships with external agencies to support students, families

Responsibilities

• Monitor and analyse student engagement, attendance, behaviour and achievement data to identify needs and evaluate impact.
• Lead and coordinate Head of Year teams and collaborate with staff, students and families to strengthen engagement and learning outcomes.
• Strengthen culturally responsive wraparound support addressing students' academic, social, emotional, and wellbeing needs.
• Establish and maintain partnerships with external agencies and community services to coordinate targeted student support.
• Develop and lead family and community engagement initiatives that strengthen student connection and belonging.
