MacKillop Catholic College, Mount Peter, in Cairns, Queensland, seeks a Student Learning Assistant to support student engagement and behaviour management within the RTC framework. The role involves helping students regulate emotions, handling escalations, and collaborating with staff on targeted interventions to improve learning participation.

Term-time, permanent position with 30 hours per week and a commencing date in Term 1, 2027.

Competenze

• Hold a Working with Children Blue Card.
• Be fully supportive of the ethos of Catholic Education.

Mansioni

• Support student engagement in learning and assist in providing support to the Responsible Thinking Classroom (RTC).
• Assist students to regulate emotions, respond to escalations and explore challenges impacting engagement across learning environments.
• Assist in planning and resourcing interventions for students, delivered by the Student Learning Assistant - Student Engagement and Behaviour Support and/or other staff members.
