Job summary

BAI Communications is seeking a Structures Project Engineer to design, deliver and maintain critical broadcast and telecom infrastructure across Australia. You will oversee towers, masts and assets, ensuring safe, timely and standards-compliant project execution.

Responsibilities include managing inspection programs, maintenance strategies and stakeholder collaboration, while ensuring robust technical records and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Degree-qualified engineer with full lifecycle experience on structural assets incl. refurbishment and upgrade programs.
• Background in broadcast, telecommunications or infrastructure construction/maintenance.
• Experience with towers, masts and related assets including inspections and remediation planning.
• Knowledge of Australian standards and engineering codes for structural loading and asset integrity.
• Experience translating engineering reports into practical maintenance programs.
• Experience managing contractors and construction activities across project lifecycles.
• Working knowledge of obstruction marking and aviation lighting requirements.

Responsibilities

• Produce conceptual and detailed structural designs for broadcast and telecom infrastructure projects.
• Develop and maintain project delivery plans, documentation and technical records.
• Assess structural assets and determine maintenance, refurbishment and upgrade needs.
• Review inspection, maintenance, mast tensioning and alignment reports.
• Prepare scopes of work and RFP documentation for structural projects.
• Manage inspection and improvement programs, including scheduling and site access.
• Act as escalation point for project and technical issues to drive outcomes.
• Liaise with regulatory bodies regarding tower lighting and obstruction marking.
• Build relationships with contractors, suppliers and internal stakeholders.
• Ensure projects are delivered safely, on time and within budget per PM standards.
