Job summary

Perth & Kinross Council is seeking an Engineer - Structures to deliver the Structures capital programme, including bridges and highway structures, from inception to completion. The role is based at Pullar House, Perth, with site visits across the council area and potential supervision of technical staff.

The successful candidate will need a Civil Engineering degree, ICE membership, and strong design, governance and safety awareness, plus the ability to work in a complex public-sector environment

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil Engineering with knowledge in civil/structural engineering.
• ICE membership or eligibility.
• Experience with bridges and highway structures.
• Ability to work within statutory, governance and health and safety frameworks.
• Experience in local authority/public sector environments.
• Valid UK driving licence for site visits.

Responsibilities

• Plan, design, procure and deliver structures projects from inception to completion.
• Support delivery of Structures capital programme including bridges and related works.
• Provide technical guidance and supervise technicians as allocated.
• Travel to locations across Perth and Kinross.
• Work within CDM 2015 roles and procurement processes.
