Job summary

University of Queensland (UQ) in Brisbane invites applications for a Lecturer (Teaching and Research) in Structural Engineering. The role combines high-quality teaching with an active research program, supervising HDR students and contributing to program development across undergraduate and postgraduate courses.

The appointee will pursue impactful research in structural engineering, engage with external funding, publish in journals, and collaborate with staff, industry and the wider UQ community

Qualifications

• Completed PhD in Structural Engineering, and/or Civil Engineering.
• Desirable: expertise in structural design (concrete) and knowledge of Australian Standards.
• Active research interests in structural engineering and related areas such as new materials, timber engineering, low-carbon concrete, steel behavior.

Responsibilities

• Teach undergraduate and postgraduate civil/structural engineering courses with engaging delivery.
• Develop and supervise research programs; supervise HDR and honours students.
• Secure and manage external research funding; publish in high-quality journals and conferences.
• Contribute to curriculum development and university service.
