Job summary

GHD Group in Brisbane seeks an experienced Structural Engineer to join the Property & Buildings team.

You will lead and support structural design projects for buildings, collaborating with architects, project managers and other engineers to deliver iconic projects across Queensland.

Qualifications

• Degree in Engineering (Civil/Structural) required.
• Minimum 5 years industry experience as a Structural Engineer in buildings.
• Experience across various building types and materials.
• Membership of Engineers Australia and progression toward CPEng/NER desirable.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support structural design projects for buildings, including inspections and reporting.
• Collaborate with architects, project managers, building services and other engineers in multidisciplinary teams.
• Mentor and develop junior staff and maintain client relationships.
• Project manage and lead teams to ensure on-time, on-budget delivery.

Who are we looking for?

We’re looking for an experienced Structural Engineer to join our Property & Buildings Team in Brisbane. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real impact on local and Queensland wide building projects, while working as part of our collaborative and supportive multi-disciplinary global team.

• Leading and supporting structural design projects for buildings, along with inspections, assessments, and reporting.
• Working collaboratively with architects, project managers, building services and civil engineers in multidisciplinary teams delivering iconic projects.

What you will bring to the team:

• Degree in Engineering (Civil/Structural)
• Minimum of 5 years industry experience as a Structural Engineer, with specific depth of experience in building design projects in a consulting environment.
• Experience utilising a broad range of skills across various types of buildings and materials.
• Membership of Engineers Australia and working towards CPEng and/or NER registration is desirable.
• Comprehensive knowledge of Australian Building Codes and Standards.

Membership of Engineers Australia and Registered Professional Engineer of Queensland (RPEQ) preferred, or an equivalent professional accreditation (e.g. CPEng), or the ability to obtain these credentials.

Experience in proposal and tender preparation for building projects, including Design & Construct (D&C) projects.

• Experience managing projects from conception to completion and demonstrated experience leading teams to deliver projects on time and within budget.
• Strong communication skills and ability to engage confidently with clients and stakeholders.
• A passion for delivering high-quality, bespoke solutions and mentoring others.
