Job summary

Design & Build Recruitment in Sydney is seeking a Civil/Structural Engineer for a well-established consulting engineering and building design firm in Southern Sydney, with a strong focus on structural engineering. Qualifications

• Civil or Structural Engineering degree required.
• Experience in structural consulting or building design is desirable.
• Strong understanding of structural behaviour and fundamentals.
• Capability in timber, steel and concrete design.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent technical report writing and English.
• High attention to detail.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD.
• Good communication and willingness to attend site.
• Genuine interest in a structural engineering career.

Responsibilities

• Undertake structural inspections and assessments of existing buildings.
• Investigate defects, damage and failures and determine causation.
• Prepare detailed technical and causation reports.
• Develop scopes of structural and remedial works.
• Undertake structural analysis and design across timber, steel and concrete.
• Prepare structural drawings and documentation using AutoCAD.
• Liaise with clients, contractors and stakeholders.
• Work closely with senior engineers on project delivery.
