Job summary

WSP is seeking a Structural Engineer to join our Adelaide Mining team. You will manage a portfolio of small to medium sustaining capital and brownfields projects, delivering structural designs that improve and expand client operations safely and efficiently.

You will own structural design packages, collaborate across disciplines, and develop technical and project delivery capabilities in a supportive environment.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering required.
• Approximately 5–10 years of structural engineering experience.
• Experience in mining, resources, heavy industrial, or related sectors.
• Knowledge of Australian structural design standards and practices.
• Experience with structural analysis and design software.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Deliver structural design packages for mining and industrial facilities.
• Prepare calculations, design documentation, technical reports, and specs.
• Contribute to studies, detailed design and construction support activities.
• Design steel, concrete, and related structural systems for brownfields and sustaining capital projects.
• Collaborate with civil, mechanical, electrical, process, and geotechnical teams.
• Participate in site inspections, structural assessments, and condition evaluations.

What you’ll do:

We're seeking a Structural Engineer with 5-10 years of experience to join our Adelaide Mining team. In this role, you'll work across a diverse portfolio of small to medium sustaining capital and brownfields mining projects, helping our clients improve, maintain, and expand their operations safely and efficiently.

This is an excellent opportunity to take ownership of structural design packages, work closely with multidisciplinary teams, and further develop your technical and project delivery capabilities within a supportive and collaborative environment.

• Deliver structural engineering designs for mining and industrial facilities
• Prepare calculations, design documentation, technical reports, and specifications
• Contribute to studies, detailed design, and construction support activities
• Design steel, concrete, and associated structural systems for brownfields and sustaining capital projects
• Collaborate with civil, mechanical, electrical, process, and geotechnical teams to deliver integrated project outcomes
• Participate in site inspections, structural assessments, and condition evaluations as required
• Support project delivery through planning, coordination, and stakeholder engagement
• Ensure designs meet client, regulatory, and safety requirements

About you:

• Degree qualifications in Civil or Structural Engineering
• Approximately 5-10 years of structural engineering experience
• Experience within mining, resources, heavy industrial, or related sectors
• Exposure to sustaining capital, brownfields, or operational site environments would be beneficial
• Knowledge of Australian structural design standards and engineering practices
• Experience with structural analysis and design software
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
• A proactive, solutions-focused approach and ability to work within multidisciplinary teams
