Job summary

Zenviron, a joint venture between Monadelphous and ZEM Energy, is seeking a Structural/Electrical Engineer to join our Newcastle team and support the design and delivery of major renewable energy infrastructure, including transmission lines, HV substations and BESS structures.

This hybrid role involves foundations and steelwork design, coordination with civil and electrical teams, and adherence to Australian standards.

Qualifications

• Degree in Structural Engineering with registration eligibility in Australia.
• Experience designing HV substations and associated foundations.
• Familiarity with AS/NZS standards and network requirements.
• Ability to collaborate across civil, electrical, and project teams.
• Full working rights in Australia.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain PLS-CADD models for overhead transmission line design, including survey and terrain validation.
• Prepare and review design deliverables for constructability and coordination with civil and electrical teams.
• Design and verify foundations and steelwork for HV substations and BESS facilities.
• Coordinate geotechnical, civil, and electrical inputs to deliver buildable solutions.
• Support procurement and subcontractor processes, including RFIs and design clarifications.

Structural/Electrical Engineer – Transmission Lines and HV Substation Structures

Zenviron are seeking a Structural Engineer to join our Engineering team in Newcastle, supporting the design and delivery of major renewable energy infrastructure projects.

This is a hybrid role with responsibility across transmission line design and HV substation and BESS structural design, including foundations and steelwork. You will work closely with electrical, civil and project team stakeholders to develop practical, compliant and buildable design solutions.

This role is well suited to a detail-oriented engineer who enjoys working in a collaborative environment and contributing to large-scale infrastructure projects.

Key responsibilities include:

• Develop and maintain PLS-CADD models for overhead transmission line design, including validation of survey, terrain and design inputs
• Prepare and review design deliverables, ensuring constructability, compliance, and coordination with civil and electrical teams
• Design and verify foundations and steelwork for HV substations and BESS facilities, including key structural components
• Coordinate geotechnical, civil, and electrical inputs to deliver practical and buildable solutions
• Support procurement and subcontractor processes, including RFIs, design clarifications, and vendor reviews.

What we are looking for:

• Degree qualification in Structural Engineering, eligible for (or holding) CPEng and state-based professional registration (eg. RPEQ, RPEV)
• Experience in HV substation foundation and steelwork design.
• Familiarity with Australian Standards (including AS/NZS 1170, AS 2067, AS 3600, AS 4600, AS/NZS 7000) and relevant Network Service Provider requirements
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality outputs.
• Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary engineering team.
• Full working rights in Australia.
