Job summary

Zinfra is looking for a Civil/Structural Designer to help design bulk earthworks, drainage, buildings and foundations for Zone Substations up to 66kV. You will produce calculations, specs and design documents while supporting underground cable infrastructure and earthing system design.

You will work closely with project managers, electrical engineers, contractors and suppliers, contributing to scopes, estimates, schedules and resource plans to help deliver safe, compliant infrastructure projects.

Qualifications

• Civil engineering qualification or equivalent experience.
• Experience in civil and/or structural design.
• Strong knowledge of Australian Standards and engineering practices.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD and MS Office.

• Design bulk earthworks, drainage, buildings, structures and foundations.
• Develop civil/structural solutions for Zone Substations up to 66kV.
• Prepare detailed calculations, specifications and design documentation.

Working alongside electrical engineers, project managers and delivery teams, you’ll help design the civil and structural components that support critical Zone Substation and transmission infrastructure.

Your Work Will Include

• Designing bulk earthworks, drainage, buildings, structures and equipment foundations
• Developing civil and structural solutions for Zone Substations up to 66kV
• Preparing detailed engineering calculations, specifications and design documentation
• Supporting the civil aspects of underground cable infrastructure and earthing system design
• Supporting transmission line tower civil and structural design
• Reviewing and quality-checking designs
• Developing scopes, estimates, schedules and resource plans
• Supporting projects through design, construction and commissioning
• Working closely with project managers, electrical engineers, contractors and suppliers
• Identifying risks and finding practical, innovative solutions
• Sharing your knowledge and helping others grow

About You

We’re looking for someone who is technically strong, curious and genuinely enjoys working with people.

You’ll Ideally Bring

• A recognised Civil Engineering qualification, or equivalent experience
• Experience in civil and/or structural design
• Experience within utilities, electricity, energy or major infrastructure is highly regarded
• Strong knowledge of Australian Standards and engineering practices
• Experience with earthworks, drainage, structures and foundations
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office
• Strong engineering calculation and technical documentation skills
• An understanding of project costs, scopes, schedules and delivery
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
• A proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement
