Location: Mount Pleasant, WA

Type: Full-Time or Part-Time

Salary: Based on experience

How to Apply

We’re currently looking for the right person to join our team and are open to candidates with different backgrounds and experience levels. This is primarily a structural drafting role, ideal for an experienced draftsperson who wants to work across a range of residential and commercial projects.

Qualified structural engineers with drafting experience are also encouraged to apply. If hired as an engineer, you’ll work in an engineering capacity, but the role remains drafting-focused at its core.

Please submit:

  • Your CV
  • A brief cover letter stating your experience and your preferred salary

Using AI to assist with your application is fine – but if it’s done poorly or carelessly, it will not be considered.

Do not apply if you do not live in Perth. This is a local role requiring in-person attendance at times.

About the Role

This is a hybrid position based out of our Mount Pleasant office. You’ll be working directly with the Principal Structural Engineer across a variety of residential and commercial projects.

Typical tasks include:

  • Structural drafting in AutoCAD
  • Using Bluebeam for markups and documentation reviews
  • Manual and digital markups
  • Preparing documentation for single and double-storey luxury homes, renovations, and commercial projects
  • Participating in client meetings and occasional site inspections
  • Liaising directly with reputable Perth builders and consultants

This is a hands-on role with involvement in the full project lifecycle. If you're a drafter, you'll focus on delivering high-quality documentation. If you're an engineer, you'll take on engineering responsibilities in addition to drafting tasks.

This role offers a pathway into broader responsibilities depending on your skills and interests:

  • For drafters, this may mean expanding into technical design and client coordination
  • For engineers, this may include structural analysis, design sign-off, and broader project leadership

We’ll support you to grow your capabilities at your own pace – whether you’re refining your drafting skills or stepping into design and engineering tasks.

What We’re Looking For
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD (essential)
  • Familiarity with Bluebeam (or willingness to learn)
  • 2–10 years of experience in residential and/or commercial structural drafting in WA
  • Understanding of the National Construction Code (NCC) and WA construction practices
  • Ability to manage your own time and deliver to deadlines
  • Valid driver’s licence for occasional site visits

For engineering-qualified applicants, experience with software such as SpaceGass is beneficial.

About the Team

We’re a small, technically focused team of four currently working mostly from home. You’ll report directly to the Principal Engineer and work in a flexible, hybrid setup. The office is based in Mount Pleasant with onsite parking and quiet, focused space for in-person work.

What’s on Offer
  • Hybrid work arrangement (part in-office, part working from home)
  • Secure on-site parking
  • 4 weeks annual leave plus 5 additional days over the Christmas shutdown
  • Bonus opportunities following a successful probation period
  • Exposure to a wide variety of structural projects
  • Direct involvement in client meetings and real project decisions
