We're at the heart of the energy transition, and we're driven by powerful purpose to make electricity accessible for all. It's an exciting chapter for our company with each day bringing a renewed energy to how we deliver, store and use electricity.

As we continue to grow, we’re in search of exceptional talent to help us achieve our goals. Everyone's job is important here. Our customers come from all walks of life, and so do we. We're committed to fostering diverse, respectful and inclusive workplaces, and encourage applications from all backgrounds.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in shaping and delivering Ausgrid’s enterprise strategy at a time of significant transformation across the energy sector.

We are seeking experienced Strategy Manager to lead some of Ausgrid’s most important strategic priorities. These are diverse, high-impact roles with the opportunity to work across initiatives spanning battery and renewable strategy, future grid expansion, regulatory reset strategy and other emerging enterprise priorities.

This isn't a strategy role where you'll simply develop recommendations and hand them over. Reporting to the Senior Strategy Managers y ou’ll take end-to-end ownership of strategic initiatives, moving from initial problem solving and analysis through to developing recommendations, implementation planning and presenting outcomes to senior Executives and the Board. Th e portfolio offers exposure to a broad range of enterprise challenges, giving you the opportunity to move between different strategic priorities and build a deep understanding of the business and the changing energy landscape.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Lead complex strategic initiatives and workstreams from initial problem definition through analysis, recommendations and implementation planning.
  • Support the development, execution and monitoring of Ausgrid’s broader corporate strategy, translating strategic priorities into pragmatic, executable plans.
  • Analyse complex business and industry challenges, bringing structure and clarity to ambiguous problems and developing a clear path forward.
  • Develop high-quality strategic analysis, insights, recommendations and presentations for Executive and Board-level audiences.
  • Monitor global and local trends and identify developments that may influence Ausgrid’s strategy and future direction.
  • Provide strategic advice relating to energy policy, industry disruption and the energy transition.
  • Build strong relationships across the organisation, working with senior leaders and influencing stakeholders to achieve successful strategic outcome.
  • Contribute to strategic innovation opportunities and initiatives involving potential external partnerships.
You’ll Bring

You’ll be an experienced strategy professional who enjoys tackling complex problems, working through ambiguity and turning analysis into clear, commercially sound recommendations.

  • A minimum of five years’ experience in strategy, strategy consulting, corporate strategy, business planning or a closely related strategic environment.
  • Tertiary qualifications in finance, engineering or another relevant discipline.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capability, with the ability to break down complex issues and develop practical recommendations.
  • Demonstrated experience independently leading strategic projects or workstreams end-to- end.
  • The confidence and credibility to work with senior stakeholders and influence outcomes across a complex organisation.
  • Excellent written communication and presentation skills, with the ability to distil complex information into compelling Executive-level materials.
  • Strong commercial judgement and the ability to balance immediate business priorities with longer-term strategic objectives
  • Experience within energy, utilities, infrastructure or another highly regulated or transforming industry would be advantageous. The role statement identifies previous energy-sector experience as desirable rather than essential.
  • We are open to experience from Inhouse or consulting environments.
