Job summary

NSW Rural Fire Service seeks a Risk Planning Coordinator (Operational Officer Level 3) to lead bush fire risk management planning across the Hunter region. You’ll coordinate risk planning teams, liaise with councils and agencies, and provide guidance to reduce community risk.

You’ll translate complex risk data into practical insights and foster strong stakeholder relationships for safer, more resilient communities.

Qualifications

• RFS Group Leader qualification or equivalent (PUAOPE016/PUAOPE023).
• Diploma in Emergency Management, Project Management or Leadership or equivalent.
• Level 2 Principal IMT qualification in Planning, Operations or Logistics.
• A current Driver Licence and willingness to travel.
• Operational Officer Medical Assessment certifying fitness (external applicants).

Responsibilities

• Lead delivery of Bush Fire Risk Management Plans and Fire Trail Plans in Hunter region.
• Coordinate Area Risk Planning, Fire Trails Officers, and mitigation activities.
• Engage with councils, emergency services, agencies and volunteers.
• Translate risk information into practical advice for communities.
