Job summary

WSP USA is seeking a Project Financial Advisor (PFA) to act as a trusted finance partner to project delivery teams across the full project lifecycle. You will ensure alignment with enterprise objectives through budgeting, revenue recognition, and financial reviews, driving disciplined stewardship and margin improvement.

You will advise on profitability, working capital management, and risk across medium to high-complexity projects, collaborating with PMs and cross-functional teams to uphold

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Business, or closely-related discipline (or demonstrated proven equivalent experience).
• 5-7 years of relevant post-education experience in project finance or commercial finance in engineering, construction, or professional services
• Proficiency in Advanced Excel and MS Office; ERP tools experience (Oracle preferred).
• Experience with PowerBI or other data visualization tools (advantageous).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities with actionable insights.
• Exceptional stakeholder relationship management and engagement skills with ability to influence delivery, commercial, and finance leadership

Responsibilities

• Contribute to sound financial management of projects as a financial partner to Project Managers.
• Provide guidance on project setup, budgeting, rate selection, and pricing tool inputs.
• Advise on project financial planning and risk identification.
• Review labor structures and rate optimization for margin improvement.
• Advise on project funding, billing methods, and rates for assigned projects.
• Monitor and report on margin-related observations and cost-to-serve considerations.
• Perform margin and financial impact calculations and support variability analysis.
• Monitor project forecast cycle for assigned projects and ensure FP&A targets are met.
• Review project budgets and forecasts to validate assumptions and accuracy.
• Support contract execution, audit readiness, and compliance with financial policies.
