Job summary

Mildura Rural City Council is seeking a Lead procurement and contracts executive to oversee Council’s procurement and contract management functions, providing strategic advice to the CEO, General Managers, Manager Financial Services and business units.

The role offers flexible working arrangements, relocation assistance to move to the Mildura region, and a competitive salary under the Council’s Enterprise Agreement.

Qualifications

• Degree or Diploma qualifications in business or related discipline with relevant experience.
• Experience in the use, implementation, and administration of information systems and business software applications.
• Demonstrated ability to lead, manage and develop a small team of professional staff, fostering high performance and accountability.
• Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to effectively engage and build productive working relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including preparing reports, correspondence and presentations, and communicating information clearly and effectively.

Responsibilities

• Oversee Council’s procurement and contract management functions, while providing high-level advice and support to the CEO, General Managers, Manager Financial Services, and business units on procurement, contracts, and related matters.
• Provide strategic guidance to senior leadership on procurement, contracts, and related matters.
• Ensure compliant and value-driven outcomes in line with Council objectives.
