Job summary

Department for Child Protection (DCP) in Adelaide is seeking a Senior Procurement Officer to strengthen contract renewal and renegotiation processes. You will manage end-to-end procurement within a tight-knit team, using evidence-based decision-making and extensive procurement experience.

You will oversee tender evaluations, negotiate contract terms, and develop strategies to reduce risks while maximising value for money for services supporting vulnerable children and young people.

Qualifications

• Experience in end-to-end procurement processes to support strategic goals.
• Strong negotiation and communication skills with stakeholders.
• Analytical thinking for evaluating contracts and procurement content.
• Ability to prepare concise reports with recommendations for the department.

Responsibilities

• Oversee tender evaluations, pre-qualification panels and contract renewal/replacement/renegotiation.
• Manage contract dispute resolution through negotiation techniques.
• Develop and examine procurement strategies, policies and systems to reduce risks.
• Maintain robust partnerships with service providers to maximise value for money.
• Apply professional expertise to raise awareness of complex procurement matters.
