Job summary

The BMD Group in Brisbane is seeking an experienced Procurement Officer or Lead to join the Queensland team. You will support the operational needs of the business by ensuring timely delivery of goods, expediting materials, and coordinating supplier and subcontractor performance across projects on the Sunshine Coast.

You will negotiate cost-effective rates, manage multiple procurement packages and lead a procurement team, using strong communication and decision-making skills to meet safety,

Qualifications

• Experience as a Procurement Officer or Lead.
• Experience managing multiple procurement packages and procurement teams on major construction projects.
• Relevant tertiary or vocational qualifications.
• CIPS accreditation is preferable but not essential.
• Strong interpersonal and written and oral communication skills.
• Proven experience in leading a team.
• Strong decision-making, negotiation and influencing skills.
• High attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Ensure all goods are delivered to site within the expected time constraints.
• Expedite pre-ordered and back-ordered materials.
• Coordinate plant transfers between sites.
• Source and negotiate cost-effective rates with new suppliers.
• Ensure suppliers and subcontractors meet safety, environment, quality, price and delivery requirements.
• Liaise between site staff and suppliers to resolve purchasing supply issues.
