Job summary

Subsidence Advisory NSW in Newcastle seeks a Principal Manager, Strategy & Policy to lead the Strategy and Policy team and deliver strategic policy, communications and stakeholder engagement to support the agency’s critical functions.

The role is a full-time, 12-month position with a potential extension, offering a salary of $154,231–$178,369 per year plus super and leave loading, with hybrid work (2 office days per week) from the Newcastle office.

• Relevant qualification or equivalent experience in policy or communication.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team providing policy and legal advice, strategic projects and stakeholder engagement.
• Provide expert, strategic advice to senior leaders on emerging issues and risks.
• Oversee creation of high‑quality communications to respond to stakeholder requests and align with policy objectives and legislation.
• Develop and implement communication and stakeholder engagement strategies for complex or high‑profile initiatives to manage reputational risk.
