Job summary

The City of Albany’s Development Services Team is seeking an experienced Strategic Planning Officer to contribute to timely assessment of planning applications and delivery of strategic planning projects, with strong emphasis on customer service and community engagement.

You will hold a tertiary qualification in Urban and Regional Planning (or equivalent) and have proven experience assessing development applications, supporting scheme amendments, and maintaining records across systems.

Qualifications

• Experience with urban and regional planning frameworks and statutory/policy planning principles.
• Proven ability to assess development applications in line with legislation.
• Strong interpersonal skills for communicating technical matters to diverse audiences.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the timely assessment of planning applications and delivery of planning projects.
• Contribute to precinct and policy-based planning functions.
• Provide high-quality planning advice to internal and external stakeholders.
• Support record management and reporting across systems.
