Job summary

Hume City Council is seeking a strategic and analytical Coordinator Planning and Performance to drive integrated planning, performance management and strategic decision‑making across the organisation. The role focuses on improving planning maturity, financial sustainability and service alignment with community needs.

The successful candidate will lead cross‑functional teams, advise executives, and shape planning frameworks while fostering a culture of continuous improvement and accountability

Qualifications

• Expert knowledge in integrated strategic planning and performance management practices.
• Strong strategic and systems thinking with ability to connect planning and financial considerations.
• Understanding of public sector financial sustainability and long‑term planning.

Responsibilities

• Leading coordination, delivery and continuous improvement of integrated planning and performance management practices.
• Support integration of strategic planning, service planning, annual planning and resource allocation with community needs.
• Build organisational maturity through structured planning practices, governance and decision‑making.
• Embed evidence‑informed planning and financial sustainability in decisions about services and resources.
• Support maturity improvement roadmaps to strengthen organisational capability and accountability.
• Provide strategic advice, analysis and insights to support Council and executive decision‑making.
