Job summary

Liverpool City Council in Sydney is seeking a Management Accountant to lead budgeting, forecasting and reporting, including the Annual Budget, Revenue Pricing Policy and the Long-Term Financial Plan. Based in the management accounting team, you will provide input to the annual budgets, help develop the Long-Term Financial Plan, support quarterly budget reviews and analyse employee costs and salary savings.

The role requires tertiary qualifications in Accounting or Commerce, extensive budgeting

Qualifications

• Minimum degree in Accounting or Commerce.
• Extensive budgeting and financial management experience in medium to large organisations.
• Experience with large financial information systems.
• Knowledge of NSW Local Government Act and Integrated Planning and Reporting Framework is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Assist in annual budgets, including setting of fees and charges.
• Contribute to Long-Term Financial Plan development.
• Support quarterly budget reviews with budget managers.
• Analyse monthly employee costs, contract labour and salary savings.
• Develop and update budget and forecast models.
