Job summary

Brisbane Catholic Education's St Columban's College in Caboolture seeks a Middle Leader to drive Religious Education curriculum at a school-wide level. Lead curriculum development, implement effective pedagogy, and supervise teaching quality, using data to guide decisions and manage resources.

The role is full-time and ongoing from January 2027, with an initial appointment at Middle Leader level and associated allowances, plus tax‑advantaged superannuation. A strong Catholic identity is required.

Responsibilities

• Leading the overall curriculum development, implementation, and evaluation across the school under the direction of Senior Leadership
• Applying contemporary learning and teaching research to classroom practice through whole‑school professional development and targeted support for teacher improvement
• Collaborating with Curriculum Leaders, teaching staff, and Senior Leadership to review curriculum frameworks and plan future directions
• Leading teacher performance through professional dialogue, reflective practice, and formal/informal goal setting and appraisal
• Staying current with curriculum and pedagogy developments and guiding whole‑school professional learning accordingly
• Providing induction and mentoring for beginning teachers in collaboration with Senior Leadership and Curriculum Leaders
• Supervising student learning across the school using internal and external data, and implementing strategic interventions
• Contributing to school leadership through active participation in staff and middle leadership meetings
• Managing financial and material resources within the curriculum area, including budget planning and expenditure

Join St Columban's College, Caboolture and drive the school’s mission by leading Religious Education learning and teaching at a strategic level. Develop Religious Education curriculum aligned with national, state, and local standards; implement effective pedagogies; supervise teaching and learning quality; use data to inform decisions; build partnerships; and manage resources responsibly.

• Work hours: 30.00
• Salary: $86,601 - $124,725 per annum + Middle Leader Tier 4 Allowance + 12.75% Super
• Status: Full Time Continuing
• Ad close date: 11th October, 2026

This is a permanent teaching appointment, with an initial appointment into the Middle Leader position including Middle Leader Allowance, concluding at the end of the current triennium (December 2029). Two subsequent three-year appointments with the Middle Leader Allowance can be offered subject to satisfactory performance in the position and the ongoing existence of the position.
