Job summary

CSIRO is seeking a strategic leader to head the enterprise research infrastructure strategy across the national portfolio. You will shape long-term capability roadmaps, investment priorities and governance, influencing major equipment decisions and cross‑sector collaboration.

Reporting to the Executive Director, Technology, National Facilities and Collections, you will provide senior advice on capability needs and opportunities for co-investment, guiding CSIRO to meet future research challenges

Qualifications

Highly developed stakeholder engagement, communication and influencing skills.
Ability to build strategic relationships and represent CSIRO in forums.
Experience in national level research infrastructure and cross‑functional collaboration.
Commitment to health, safety, wellbeing and values-based leadership.

Responsibilities

Lead CSIRO's enterprise research infrastructure strategy and national infrastructure plan.
Shape long-term capability roadmaps, investment priorities, lifecycle planning and equipment decisions.
Advise senior leaders on future capability needs and significant investment decisions.
Strengthen governance, prioritisation and visibility of research infrastructure.
Identify opportunities for shared capability and co-investment across universities, NCRIS, government and industry.
Represent CSIRO in national discussions and partnerships.
