CSIRO's Government Engagement Unit seeks a Senior Adviser (Portfolio) to ensure CSIRO’s engagement with government is strategic and coordinated, strengthening our role as a trusted adviser for scientific input to policy.

You will connect government priorities with CSIRO stakeholders, analyse issues and advise on opportunities to engage decision makers, supporting parliamentary and Federal Budget processes, briefings, and responses.

Competenze

• Ability to analyse government priorities and coordinate strategic engagement
• Strong stakeholder relationship management across internal and external partners
• Understanding of Australia's federal government environment and budget processes
• Excellent written and verbal communication with attention to detail
• Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a dynamic environment

Mansioni

• Support implementation of CSIRO’s Budget Strategy and advise on Cabinet and federal processes
• Coordinate parliamentary and administrative responsibilities including ministerial briefs and questions
• Advise staff on government protocols and obligations as a Commonwealth entity employee
• Implement Government Engagement Unit priorities in a coordinated manner
• Prepare concise briefings for CSIRO’s Executive for strategic engagement across government
• Support CSIRO’s role in public-funded research agency meetings and working groups
• Lead and coordinate submissions to government consultations and policy inquiries
