The Museums of History NSW seeks an Assistant Project Officer to support governance, access to resources, and compliance with the State Records Act 1998. You will coordinate administrative and secretariat tasks and support the Board's operations.

This full-time role across Sydney/NSW involves delivering eLearning modules, coordinating communications, and ensuring timely, accurate reporting to support State Records Authority NSW.

Qualifications

  • Experience in providing administrative and secretarial support at an Executive level.
  • Ability to maintain discretion and confidentiality.
  • Willingness to work across and ability to travel to multiple work locations.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate administrative, secretariat and recordkeeping support for governance and customer service obligations.
  • Manage the delivery of State Records NSW's eLearning modules.
  • Coordinate the publication of newsletters and governance content, and maintain online information.
  • Administer Board operations, including meeting logistics, remuneration and allowances where applicable.
  • Undertake a range of regular and ad hoc administrative tasks, including financial activities and meeting arrangements.
  • Provide executive level professional and administrative support as required.
  • Meet deadlines and priorities to support State Records NSW effectively.
  • Undertake research tasks to locate, collate and present information for project reporting.

Job Description

Join State Records NSW as an Assistant Project Officer and contribute to the work of supporting transparent and accountable government. In this role, you will support access to resources and training to promote understanding and compliance with the State Records Act 1998, and support operations of the Board.

  • Clerk Grade 5/6. Remuneration package includes salary ($102,936 - $113,579), employer's contribution to superannuation and annual leave loading.
  • Ongoing full-time employment.

What we do

State Records Authority NSW (State Records NSW) is a statutory body established under the State Records Act 1998 (the Act), which came into being on 31 December 2022. Our vision is to support transparent and accountable government by being an expert, best practice regulator.

State Records NSW assists public offices to meet their recordkeeping obligations under the Act and is led by an Executive Director.

State Records NSW provides oversight of recordkeeping across the NSW public sector. We support effective and efficient recordkeeping by setting standards, promoting good practice, monitoring recordkeeping practice and compliance, and providing guidance, advice and resources.

What you’ll do with us
  • Coordinate the administrative, secretariat and recordkeeping support to State Records NSW, monitoring communications, information, secretariat and governance mailboxes to ensure that governance and customer service obligations are met.
  • Manage the delivery of State Records NSW's eLearning modules in NSW public offices.
  • Coordinate the delivery of State Records NSW's communications plan, by managing the publication of For the Record newsletters, planning Records Managers Forums and maintaining currency of online content.
  • Administer operations of the Board, including booking rooms, communicating with Board members, ensuring governance requirements are met, arranging renumeration and payment of allowances as appropriate.
  • Undertake a range of regular and ad hoc administrative activities on behalf of State Records NSW, including financial activities and arranging meetings.
  • Provide executive level professional and administrative support as required.
  • Meet deadlines and assess priorities to maintain quality output for the effective support of State Records NSW.
  • Undertake research tasks to locate, collate and present information that supports the development and reporting of projects.
