Job summary

Blacktown City Council is seeking a finance professional to develop financial models and forecasts for the Long Term Financial Plan, major projects and funding strategies, testing assumptions with project managers and stakeholders. This is a secure, permanent full-time role with one of Australia’s largest councils, offering flextime, 12% superannuation and ongoing training and development support.

You will model cash flow, NPV and scenarios, monitor expenditures and reserves, and prepare reports

Reporting to the Senior Coordinator Financial Strategy, you develop financial models and forecasts for Council’s Long Term Financial Plan, major projects, funding strategies and business cases. You model cash flow, Net Present Value and different financial scenarios to assess affordability, financial risks and long-term impacts. You also monitor project expenditure, commitments, reserves and restricted funds, and investigate significant financial variances.

You work with Finance, project managers and other stakeholders to test assumptions and improve the accuracy of financial information. You prepare reports, dashboards and presentations that give senior management, Executive and Council clear information to make informed funding, project and service decisions.
