Job summary

Aurecon Group is seeking a Finance & Commercial Business Partner for NSW/ACT to lead financial planning and provide commercial guidance across the region. You will support senior leaders with data-driven insights, manage regional revenue, cash flow and KPI reporting, and drive sustainable growth.

The role requires strong qualifications in accounting, extensive finance experience in professional services or consulting, and a proven ability to influence leadership teams within a matrix

Qualifications

• Relevant tertiary qualifications, with CA, CPA or an equivalent professional qualification.
• Demonstrated success driving revenue, profitability, cash flow and working capital outcomes.
• Strong business acumen and a clear understanding of how finance and commercial initiatives connect to business strategy.
• The ability to interpret and synthesise complex quantitative and qualitative information, identify trends and provide practical recommendations.
• Experience operating in a matrix organisation and achieving outcomes through influence.
• Confident stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to partner with, inspire and influence senior leaders and teams.
• Strong knowledge of financial and commercial policies, governance, controls and project financial management.
• A continuous-improvement mindset and the ability to strengthen systems, processes and capability across the business.

Responsibilities

• Embed strategic and operational financial plans and provide commercial insight, guidance and controls to achieve regional objectives.
• Partner with senior leaders, turning financial data into practical recommendations that support performance and growth.
• Own regional business planning and reforecasting, including monthly reviews, reporting, analysis and commentary.
• Provide commercial input into bids and proposals, balancing risk and reward to maximise returns.
• Oversee regional project financial performance, including revenue, forecasting, cash position and cost-to-complete reviews.
