Job description

Australian Citizens with ability to obtain Baseline Clearance residing in Australia only respond.

  • Contract start 04 September 2023 to 22 December 2023, 2 x 6 months extensions.
  • Australian Citizen, Ability to obtain Baseline Clearance, Canberra, Sydney, Offsite role.

We are after 2 contractors with specialist strategic / service design skills.

Key attributes:

  • User centered and agile ways of working within your team and help embed this across the branch.
  • Excellent communication skills ability to provide clear and concise written and verbal advice tailored to the appropriate audience, including Ministers Office and Senior Executive. Facilitation skills are desired
  • Insightful able to identify insights and trends from available data
  • Adaptable willing to take on any task to ensure outcomes are met.
  • User focused seek to understand the users and stakeholders within the eco-system.
  • Comfortable with ambiguity accepting that you will not have all of the answers all of the time and be able to sit with ambiguity and propose processes for gaining clarity and certainty.
  • Collaborative be willing to work with others to achieve your outcome, sharing work early and often to ensure deliverables are on track.
  • Curious be open to possibilities with the ability to translate these into digital opportunities.

The key duties:

  • Strong strategic design and analysis background
  • Providing ongoing consultation and engagement, using excellent interpersonal and influencing skills, to build a strong relationship with key stakeholders and develop an understanding of their perspectives, supporting their journey for successful digital transformation and prioritisation or planning of digital and ICT proposals.
  • Developing user research insights, synthesising information derived from research and conducing analysis, and managing data flows with Commonwealth agencies to deliver meaningful insights on complex areas of policy and inform the strategic direction of Governments digital transformation and prioritisation and planning of digital and ICT proposals.
  • Preparing robust, proactive and innovative written advice based on an understanding of the strategic and policy environment and related issues, evidence from research, stakeholder and user needs and organisational priorities.
  • Supporting the development and implementation of performance reporting and evaluation frameworks
  • Working collaboratively with colleagues within your team, the branch and across the DTA, to problem solve, reach outcomes and (where relevant) collaborate with external bodies.
  • Lead or support a multi-disciplinary team to develop outcomes for the Governments digital services as required.
